Book Published (French): Guillaume Farel’s Summary of the Christian Faith in Modernized French

I did it. I completed my project to modernize the French of Guillaume Farel’s Le sommaire with the aim of making it accessible (or relatively so) to a modern audience. It is now published as an ebook in PDF and EPUB, and can be purchased here. I sought to preserve Farel’s original voice, including his admittedly challenging style. Spelling was modernized and the punctuation heavily modified. Footnotes were added to clarify certain expressions. Sometimes the text had to be reworded so as not to be misunderstood. Next Project: Modernizing a Historical Text by Guillaume Farel

When teaching Theology of the Reformation (in French), I was struck by how difficult it is to get primary sources in French. My next project is a proof of concept exercise. If this works, I will go on publishing old books as I am able and as I receive support. I want to try republishing a 16th century work by Guillaume Farel, making it available in print and ebook.
