Prayer: Week of September 12, 2021

Righteous Judge of all the earth, You see everything and You weight our hearts. The sins that we repeat every day are there before you. If You were not also gracious, this fact would lead us into despair, for it is impossible to escape You. O compassionate God, slow to anger, and rich in steadfast love, forgive us! Every day is a for us a failure. Every day is for us an occasion for grace. Do not abandon us to our temptations, but transform us. Replace our disordered desires with a thirst for the eternal God. In the name of Continue reading Prayer: Week of September 12, 2021

Prayer: Week of July 25, 2021

O, Lord of Hosts, how is it possible that those who hate You lift their heads and attack Your people? Are You not the most powerful? Do You not love those who love You? Hear the cries of the innocent, Lord, and rise to save both the feeble and the misguided. Regarding the victims, hide them and give them wings with which to flee. Regarding the guilty, forgive them, for they know not what they do. Cause their plans to fail catastrophically. May they be ashamed. May they see the futility of their lives that they may seek Your name, Continue reading Prayer: Week of July 25, 2021

Prayer: Week of June 27, 2021

Good Shepherd, watch over us during the long nights. So easily do we feel alone. We forget the good that You have done to us. We lose sight of Your mighty works, those moments in our lives when we proclaimed without any doubt that it was You who had produced a miracle for us. But the darkness makes us forget the past. Hunger, sickness, difficulties – all these cause us to doubt Your goodness; all these cause us to doubt Your love and Your promises. Give us courage and perseverance. Forgive us our mistrust. Draw us in once again by Continue reading Prayer: Week of June 27, 2021

Prayer: Week of May 2, 2021

Lord Jesus, you gave us these words: “Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.” What a challenge, Lord! We give you thanks, because you are effecting the impossible in our hearts, where you have come to dwell. Transform us so that we may love the way you loved us and give ourselves the way you gave yourself for us. Make us generous people. Grant us your own mercy so that we may forgive those who have trespassed against us. Give us the grace to take what is in ruins and restore it. All for your glory. Amen.

Prayer: Week of Feb 7, 2021

Living God, Your Word is the truth. We are conscious of the falsehood of human beings. All have gone astray from your straight path. By means of lies, the poor are oppressed. Because of our shame, we hide ourselves by means of lies. It is a nauseating cycle. Lord, forgive us our deviation from the truth. Transform us by your Word so that we may also speak the truth and that by the truth peace would reign and that the oppressed would be delivered. All for your glory. Amen.

Prayer: Week of Nov 1, 2020

God, our Judge, you who are both perfectly just and perfect love, have mercy on us. We deserve your anger. We deserve eternal punishment. We see it in the news and on social media; we see how we can be so mean and hateful; we see how we hurt and speak badly of others who are different from us. Even in silence our hearts fester. We have no defence. We are all guilty. Our only hope is the sacrifice of Jesus; He who is alone without fault. Forgive us, great Judge, for the love of your Son. Amen.

Prayer: Week of Sept 20, 2020

Our Father who art in heaven, you who see us at all times, who are the Knower-of-hearts, forgive us our prideful and unworthy thoughts; guide us according to your will for our lives, according to your will for your Church, and according to the grace and gifts which you have given us. Be patient with us and open our eyes so that we may better see what you are working around us. Give us the courage to follow you every day. All for your glory, Lord. Amen.
