Prayer: Week of August 1, 2021

Prince of Peace, guard our hearts and our minds. Tomorrow’s food escapes us, our dreams crumble away, our loved ones suffer, natural disasters will not sleep, wars continue, the saints are persecuted. And still, You appear to us and say, “Peace be with you.” Help us to believe that, even though the world seems inhospitable to us, You are King and Conqueror, and eternal life awaits us. Make us agents of peace, people who sow tranquility and joy. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Prayer: Week of July 25, 2021

O, Lord of Hosts, how is it possible that those who hate You lift their heads and attack Your people? Are You not the most powerful? Do You not love those who love You? Hear the cries of the innocent, Lord, and rise to save both the feeble and the misguided. Regarding the victims, hide them and give them wings with which to flee. Regarding the guilty, forgive them, for they know not what they do. Cause their plans to fail catastrophically. May they be ashamed. May they see the futility of their lives that they may seek Your name, Continue reading Prayer: Week of July 25, 2021

Prayer: Week of June 13, 2021

Lord, our Shepherd, we want for nothing. Thank you for all that You give us; thank you most of all for Your gift of Yourself. Help us, Lord, not to worry about tomorrow, but rather to make known our requests by prayer and in full recognition of the fact that You love us. Teach us to live with humble means and in prosperity. Strengthen us and grant us the peace and joy that surpass all understanding. The world may distract us and cause us sorrow, but the heart that is glad because of You is a continual feast. All for Continue reading Prayer: Week of June 13, 2021

Prayer: Week of May 30, 2021

Our Father, thank you for our life. It is thanks to you that even the smallest sparks exist, and we too are your creation. Quite honestly, life is sometimes hard, and sometimes we even regret the day of our birth. But the whole earth is full of Your glory. Help us, Lord, to see what is there to see and to rejoice in it. Give us a profound joy in contemplating your goodness and your perfect character. Encourage us to fix our gaze on Jesus and His victory and to draw from it an unshakeable and Spirit-invigorated hope. Amen.

Prayer: Week of May 16, 2021

Lord, Giver of Life, give us the strength to persevere and the joy of participating in Your miraculous work. You have the words of eternal life. Write those words on our hearts. Transform us into righteous people. Make our mouth into a fountain of life. In this world there are traps everywhere, lying lips, toxic pleasures – everything that leads on the road of death. Protect us from those false gods and from those false solutions. Satisfy us with Yourself and fill us with overflowing life, that we may attract our neighbours to the True Life. Amen.

Prayer: Week of May 9, 2021

God Most High, glory be to Your name, and not to us. Too often we desire to receive the glory or to come first, but the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty belong to You. Give us a humble spirit, without vanity or arrogance. Enable us to value others above ourselves. Fill us with joy to see our brothers and sisters succeed and, what’s more, to help them succeed. May our lives be a song of praise, different every day, and every day more beautiful. In the name of Jesus our Lord. Amen.

Prayer: Week of March 28, 2021

Heavenly Father, Jesus said that those who are truly His brothers and sisters are those who do your will. He also said that the big difference between the wise person and the fool is that the first puts the Word of God into practice, while the second one merely listens to it without changing anything whatsoever in his or her life. Give us, Lord, the wisdom and the prudence to love Your Word and to put it into practice. It is such a huge gift to be called your children. Protect us and fill us with joy. All this for Continue reading Prayer: Week of March 28, 2021

Prayer: Week of March 21, 2021

Creator of all things – of mighty volcanoes, tiny mustard seeds, and the mysteries of outer space – we recognize our powerlessness and our ignorance before You. Judge of all hearts, we recognize our inability to perfectly understand and follow the paths which you have established. Give us both a deep humility and an unlimited curiosity, so that we may better rejoice in the beauty and the genius of the cosmos. Give us a repentant heart, so that we may always find our way back to You in gladness. Blessed be Your name in all the earth. Amen.

Prayer: Week of Jan 17, 2021

Lord Jesus, our True Vine, You are the source of our life, of our joy, and of our love. We are the branches, and the Father prunes us, purifies us, so that we may produce the fruit of love and glorify Him in this world full of hatred. We know that we must abide in You, otherwise we dry out; but we need your grace. Give us an indefatigable love for Your very self; help us to reject the world and immerse ourselves ever deeper in Your Word. For the Father’s glory, and by the Holy Spirit’s power, amen.

Prayer: Week of Dec 27, 2020

O, Lord, Master of the armies of heaven, we sometimes feel so small. Whether it be before sickness, war, or injustice, Lord, we feel powerless. But if God is for us, who can be against us? In Jesus, You are victorious; in Jesus, we share Your victory. We can suffer, but not one thing in all the world can separate us from the love of Jesus. What grace to become hyper-conquerors with You and to share Your glory! May the Spirit guide us to do Your will each day, whether it be easy or difficult. All for Your glory. Amen.
