Prayer: Week of June 13, 2021

Lord, our Shepherd, we want for nothing. Thank you for all that You give us; thank you most of all for Your gift of Yourself. Help us, Lord, not to worry about tomorrow, but rather to make known our requests by prayer and in full recognition of the fact that You love us. Teach us to live with humble means and in prosperity. Strengthen us and grant us the peace and joy that surpass all understanding. The world may distract us and cause us sorrow, but the heart that is glad because of You is a continual feast. Prayer: Week of May 30, 2021

Our Father, thank you for our life. It is thanks to you that even the smallest sparks exist, and we too are your creation. Quite honestly, life is sometimes hard, and sometimes we even regret the day of our birth. But the whole earth is full of Your glory. Help us, Lord, to see what is there to see and to rejoice in it. Give us a profound joy in contemplating your goodness and your perfect character. Encourage us to fix our gaze on Jesus and His victory and to draw from it an unshakeable and Spirit-invigorated hope. Amen.

Prayer: Week of March 7, 2021

Heavenly Father, we sometimes feel all alone in this world. We know that You are there with us, even in us by the Holy Spirit, but we are creatures of flesh. It does us good to see with our eyes and to touch with our hands. We thank You for the people who have shown us Your love in a concrete way. We thank You for our parents, for our friends, and for our colleagues. Most of all, Lord, we thank You for the family of God, for those strangers who have become our brothers and our sisters. Amen.

Prayer: Week of Jan 31, 2021

God, our Father, thank you for the huge family that you have given us. Some of us have left behind our parents, our brothers and sisters, our friends to follow you, but we are not thereby without loved ones. Rather, we are rich in Christ, our brother. You take strangers and you make dear brothers and sisters out of them for us. Help us, Lord, to also be loyal and loving family members, praying for your children and giving of our time and of our goods to meet their needs. For your glory. Amen.

Prayer: Week of Dec 20, 2020

Dear eternal God, what a marvel to contemplate your glory and your might confined to a mortal body! We can but imagine the awe and wonder of those who held the eternal Son in their arms, or of those who sat with the Creator of all things to eat bread, at the moment when they understood that something extraordinary was happening before their mortal eyes. What joy to contemplate, even imperfectly, our future in the new earth beside Jesus our Lord, the Master who became a friend. Thank you. In the name of Jesus, amen.

Prayer: Week of Nov 22, 2020

God, our heavenly Father, thanks. Thanks for having so loved us that you adopted us as your own children. In the world without you, we were at the mercy of the devil and of dangerous wolves. We were dirty because of our sins, like orphans that no one loves and without hope. We did not know the truth, and we were incapable of understanding it. But there was one who loved us always – you did. In your Son, Jesus Christ, you showed us your infinite grace. In your Holy Spirit, you enabled us to love you. Thanks. Amen.
